We will have our Fortune Roll Cake available between Feb 1-3 to celebrate Setsubun.
Setsubun is the day before the beginning of spring in the Japanese lunar calendar and it falls on February 3rd this year.
On Setsubun, people eat fortune rolls (Eho-Maki, which is originally a sushi roll) in a traditional way.
When you eat the roll, you have to face the good fortune direction of the year, make a wish and eat the entire roll in silence for good luck.
Our Fortune Roll Cake celebrates the same concept and the lucky direction for this year will be south-southeast.
